As Training Coordinator, Randy Secontine has been able to work with numerous experts in the fields of medicine, forensic pathology, criminal law and law enforcement. Working together, the following curriculum was created for prosecutors and police officers from across the State of Michigan: Child Death Investigation Seminar Practical and Clinical Issues of Child Abuse Forensic Interviewing Interrogation Techniques in Child Death/Abuse Cases Pathology of Retinal Hemorrhages Practical Issues of Child Abuse Autopsy Scene Assessments and the Limitations of “Autopsy Only” Diagnosis Biomechanics of Pediatric Head Trauma in Child Death/Abuse Neuropathology of Child Abuse The Role of the Child Protective Team Legal Issues in Child Abuse Limitations of Expertise in the Medical profession Importance of Investigative Protocol in Child Death Cases This training received certification from the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) and was attended by more than 125 professionals.
